Deep renovation of historical residential building in Florence, Italy
(geo-cluster Mediterranean)

This four-storey building was built between 1864-1871 for commercial (ground floor and basement) and residential (upper floors) use.
Before the refurbishment the ground floor included commercial and storage spaces; two dwellings were hosted at the upper levels. In the last years the building was vacant.
The renovation and retrofitting project, implemented by Archea Associati, includes:
- an open multifunctional space at the ground floor to be used by both the tenants and external users
- three dwellings (about 60 m2 per dwellings) instead of the previous two at the upper floors (2nd and 3rd levels)
- technical spaces for MEP systems and storages in the basement
