The Sustainable Places Conference 2018 (SP2018), hosted by INES Research & Development in Chambery, France, aimed to foster innovative market solutions and empower synergies between Energy-efficient Buildings (EeB) and the interdependent smart grids, policies, construction actors, and forward-thinking communities. More than 165 delegates from different stakeholder segments participated representing countries all over the world. The symposium comprised 13 clustering workshops organized (most notably 2 events organized by the European Commission, and an official public debate on the multiannual energy program), several scientific posters being displayed (including a P2ENDURE poster), 8 presentation sessions of papers and briefings, as well as 8 keynote speeches delivered.
Together with three sister projects: 4RinEU, ProGETonE and MORE-CONNECT, P2ENDURE organised a workshop on Deep Energy Renovation. This clustering workshop focused on presenting successful experiences and pointing out existing challenges with an integrative approach to improve the low renovation rate of existing buildings in Europe that is hindering the reaching of EU-wide targets and can't be solved with effective technologies alone.
The conference paper on P2ENDURE titled "Plug-and-Play solutions for energy-efficiency & deep renovation of European building stock" has been presented by Dr. Rizal Sebastian, Director of Research at DEMO Consultants, during the Retrofit, Renovation and Refurbishment session. The paper will be available on the P2ENDURE website in the Dissemination section.
Both presentations can be viewed here.
