P2ENDURE will be featured at the European Industry Days 2021

17 February 2021


P2ENDURE has been selected to feature in the main exhibition of the fourth edition of the European Industry Days 2021. This means that we also participate in the competition, all participants will have the chance to vote their favourite projects during the conference. This event will take place fully virtual from 22 to 26 February.

The EU Industry Days 2021 aim to present the Commission’s strategic approach to industrial policy and actions to further develop industrial competitiveness in Europe. The event will also serve as a forum where stakeholders contributing to the European industrial competitiveness will showcase their activities, learn from each other, discuss cross-cutting issues and develop joint visions for the future.

Alongside the conference, the virtual exhibition will showcase around 30 to 40 innovative ideas, products and services with a focus on solutions for climate-neutral and digital industry.

P2Endure Deep Renovation Joint Workshop 2.0 aimed at bringing together stakeholders representing key decision makers and implementers in the field of deep renovation of buildings, along with retrofitting solutions users, and developers for an array of interactive poster sessions and discussions, and a unique hands-on showcase of innovative deep renovation of building solutions.


The objective of the workshop was to raise awareness on the most innovative building renovation and energy saving solutions as well as to present and discuss altogether the main features of the P2ENDURE e-Marketplace.

Cluster International Conference in Bologna

P2Endure will attend as a speaker the Cluster International Conference: New Design for a Sustainable Built Environment.


The Department of Architecture of the University of Bologna is organising a clustering event in relation to the most updated experiences connected to energy efficiency in building's technological design. This event represents an important opportunity to focus on the scientific researches that have led to major technological innovations, such as Plug & Play, high performance and energy saving solutions., new tools and strategies to encourage and stimulate large scale deep renovations and promote new energy efficient design in the EU.

The start of the renovation activities on the P2Endure demonstration case in Gdynia (Kindergarden) has not gone unnoticed in Poland.  Partner, Fasada, represented by Agnieszka Łukaszewska has proudly guided the representatives of the municipality of Gdynia, among which the one and only, Gdynia’s vice-president around the construction site, giving some insights in the work activities done prior to the renovation. 

The renovation process has now been kicked-off. It is quite exciting and enough pressure on the duration of these activities as the children will be soon arriving.

Climate KIC Journey through Europe (Berlin, Germany)

6 August 2019

TU Berlin hosted the Berlin stop during the Climate KIC Journey Community Summits and introduced the students attending from all over Europe to P2Endure solutions and processes (e.g. e-Marketplace) and its benefits for the retrofitting market. The students were able to actively participate in a dedicated workshop and came up with ideas and, even potential solutions to the challenges related to renovation projects.  

The Climate KIC Journey offers a unique combination of academic study & real-world experience and consists of various events and workshops taking place at the same time in different cities in Europe. Interested in embarking on the Journey? Check more information here.


P2Endure at EUSEW 2019 ( EU Sustainable Energy Week, Brussels, Belgium)

18 June 2019

P2Endure participated on 18 of June to the panel discussion during the session “Scaling up Deep Retrofitting”. The debate’s goal was to bridge the knowledge gap among different stakeholders and support policy makers in tackling the barriers and leverage the opportunities of deep renovation. To this end, the session has brought together experiences from seven Horizon 2020 projects (REZBUILD; RenoZEB; HEART; RECO2ST; BRESAER; BuildHEAT; P2ENDURE) on energy renovation of buildings sector and facilitated a discussion between projects’ representatives and stakeholders, including property owners, local representatives and architects. The debate enabled the creation of synergies and possibilities to cooperate and share valuable knowledge on how we plan to reach EU 2030 targets and the long-term objective of decarbonising the building stock by 2050.


The session highlighted the challenges, solutions, and strengths faced during the implementation of the solutions we propose and create more common ground.

P2Endure at Sustainable Places 2019 in Cagliari, Italy

5 - 7 June 2019

The 7th edition of Sustainable Places conference took place in Cagliari, Italy. The duration of the meeting was three days, from the 5th to the 7th of June 2019.

It is a well-known fact that the conference prides itself on being an ideal platform for the dissemination of research, the conduct of workshops, EU project clustering and networking between stakeholders of all types. Between opening and closing keynote sessions, parallel technical sessions and project-organized workshops were held on conference topic areas. P2Endure was represented by DEMO Consultants during the joint workshop on Exploitation of business models

The main outcome of this joint workshop was not only showcasing results coming from the sister projects but also a paper was published as a result of this event 



ECOMONDO – Green Technology Expo in Rimini, Italy

6-9 November 2018

The event was attended by Marco Arnesano, Universita Politecnica Delle Marche and Emanuele Piaia, SGR Servizi.

Ecomondo is the leading Euro-Mediterranean area green and circular economy expo. It is an international event that brings together all sectors of the circular economy in a single platform: from material and energy recovery to sustainable development. Ecomondo 2018 will present the national, European and International scene with new legislative priorities, in regard to research and innovation, training on Circular Economy together with the latest processes/plants 4.0, demonstrating the end products given by their implementation at the industrial level on cities and territories.

The webinar has been organised in the framework of the World Cities Day 2018 by the BuildHeat project in collaboration with other three EU-funded like-minded projects (ABRACADABRA, P2ENDURE and HEART) to discover innovative approaches, lessons learnt and results achieved in the retrofitting of multifamily houses at EU level. The aim of the webinar is to learn about innovative energy efficiency measures and financing mechanisms leveraging public and private investment to ensure future market uptake of the solutions.

7th International Building Physics Conference (IBPC2018) in Syracuse, NY, USA

​​​​​​​​The event was attended by Marco Arnesano, Universita Politecnica Delle Marche

The 7th International Building Physics Conference (IBPC20​18​) ​brought together researchers, scientists, architects, engineers and businesses involved in building physics, to present original research and findings, demonstrate and exhibit innovative green building technologies, and discuss future challenges and opportunities. The conference takes place every 3 years and is the conference of the International Association of Building Physics (IABP). IBPC2018 was the first time this conference was held in the United States. The conference advanced the collective understanding of the nature and behaviour of the cyber-physical systems in these different scales, how they interact, and what can be done to optimize their design and operation for healthy, intelligent and resilient buildings and urban environments.

The methodology for Indoor Environments Quality (IEQ) monitoring within P2ENDURE and the project were presented during the "Assessment and Analysis" session. The conference proceedings with the paper on the P2ENDURE IEQ monitoring system will be published soon.​

BIM Community Forum in Madrid, Spain

8-9 October 2018

​​​​​The event was attended by Piotr Dymarski, Mostostal Warszawa​

The two-day conference was organized by Acciona. The main goal of the event was to exchange experiences between various employees of the company dealing with BIM technology.  Many speakers presented the way of using BIM on large construction sites, like a ​metro line in Dubai or an airport in Mexico. Mr. Piotr Dymarski, representing Mostostal Warszawa, demonstrated how BIM can be used for quality checking. The results of synergy with European projects from the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme (H2020) and their positive impact on the implementation of BIM technology in the company were also presented. 75 people took part in the event and about 2,500 followed it online. 




Deep renovation Joint Workshop and TCP event in ROME

The first P2ENDURE Technical Commercialisation Platform (TCP) meeting is a fact! The Deep Renovation Joint Workshop / TCP Event has been organised to learn about the most innovative systems and technologies for building deep renovation and to introduce them to the stakeholders representing building sectors from different European countries. The aim of the P2ENDURE Technical Commercialisation Platform (TCP) is to bring the solutions to the market. 

The TCP even consisted of three parts: 

  • introduction of chosen EU Horizon 2020 projects dealing with deep renovation and researching new solutions to improve buildings’ energy-efficiency,
  • poster session to learn more about the specific technologies and ask questions directly to the responsible partners,
  • session on P2ENDURE e-Marketplace, which aims at sharing the solutions and involving stakeholders on a local level

Next to p2endure, the following sister projects presented their objectives and achieved results so far: 4RinEU, Pro-GET-onE, ENVISION and EENSULATE.

EU EIC Innovators' Summit

The EU EIC Innovators'  summit in Berlin, Germany, was organised by the EC EASME (Executive Agency for Small and Medium-size Enterprises). Beneficiaries and stakeholders of FTI and SME Instrument projects attended this summit based on EC invitation.

P2ENDURE Deep Renovation Joint Workshop in Rome, Italy

​​​​​​​​Don't miss the opportunity for an inside look at most innovative systems for deep renovation of building envelopes and technical systems

The event is hosted by P2ENDURE project and is organised in conjunction with EENSULATE and ENVISION projects.

P2ENDURE (Plug-and-Play Product and Process Innovation for Energy-efficient Building Deep Renovation) aims at improving the availability and performance of energy saving solutions for deep renovation and transformation of vacant, obsolete or sub-optimal public buildings into dwellings. The project provides Plug & Play solutions which are ready to implement, affordable, 50% faster from production to on-site assembly, scalable and adaptable (in all European countries).

EENSULATE (Development of innovative lightweight and highly insulating energy efficient components and associated enabling materials for cost-effective retrofitting and new construction of curtain wall facades) goal is to develop affordable (20% reduction of total costs) and lightweight (35% weight reduction) solutions for the envelope insulation in curtain wall buildings, meeting "nearly zero energy" standards, reducing energy bills by at least 20% and complying at the same time with the structural limits of the original building structure and national building codes.

ENVISION (ENergy harVesting by Invisible Solar IntegratiON in building skins) focusses on the development of a full renovation concept harvesting energy from ALL building surfaces (transparent and opaque) by absorbing the invisible part of the solar radiation (the near-infrared (NIR) part, roughly 50% of the solar energy spectrum). ENVISION will use standard PV solutions for roof and new thermal and electrical energy harvesting solutions for the building façade, consisting of heat collecting coloured façade elements and heat and electricity harvesting glazing solutions. To maximize the efficiency, all the harvesting solutions will be coupled to novel heating systems and district heat network, thus ensuring an efficient energy use, distribution and storage.

Sustainable Places 2018 (SP2018) in Aix-les-Bains, France

​​The event was attended by DEMO Consultants, Universita Politecnica Delle Marche and Huygen Installatie Adviseurs

The Sustainable Places Conference 2018 (SP201​8)​, hosted by INES Research & Development in Chambery, France, aimed to foster innovative market solutions and empower synergies between Energy-efficient Buildings (EeB) and the interdependent smart grids, policies, construction actors, and forward-thinking communities. More than 165 delegates from different stakeholder segments participated representing countries all over the world. The symposium comprised 13 clustering workshops organized (most notably 2 events organized by the European Commission, and an official public debate on the multiannual energy program), several scientific posters being displayed (including a P2ENDURE poster), 8 presentation sessions of papers and briefings, as well as 8 keynote speeches delivered.

Together with three sister projects: 4RinEU, ProGETonE and MORE-CONNECT​, P2ENDURE​ organised a workshop on Deep Energy Renovation. This clustering workshop focused on presenting successful experiences and pointing out existing challenges with an integrative approach to improve the low renovation rate of existing buildings in Europe that is hindering the reaching of EU-wide targets and can't be solved with effective technologies alone.

The conference paper on P2ENDURE titled "Plug-and-Play solutions for energy-efficiency & deep renovation of European building stock" has been presented by Rizal Sebastian (DEMO Consultants) during the Retrofit, Renovation and Refurbishment session. The paper will be available on the P2ENDURE website in the Dissemination section. ​

1st European conference “BIM and energy performance of buildings” in Brussels, Belgium

​​​​​The event was attended by three P2ENDURE partners: DEMO Consultants, Mostostal Warszawa and Fasada

The aim of the 1st European conference "BIM and energy performance of buildings"​ was to present the status of BIM as well as opportunities and challenges regarding BIM use for the regulatory assessment of the energy performance of buildings. The aim was also to explore possibilities and challenges for an accelerated interaction/integration. The conference covered visions of needs, on-going research and development work as well as demos of already existing solutions and panel discussions. ​

During the conference P2ENDURE leaflets and the newest newsletters were distributed.​


World Sustainable Energy Days (WSED2018) in Wels, Austria

28 February – 2 March 2018

​​​​​​This event was attended by Marco Arnesano, Universita Politecnica Delle Marche. 

P2ENDURE was again  present at the World Sustainable Energy Day​s​ (WSED)​. The project was displayed in the poster section and presented by Università Politecnica delle Marche (represented by Marco Arnesano). The publication from the conference will be available soon.

The World Sustainable Energy Days are one of Europe's largest annual conferences in this field. 

Energy efficiency and renewable energy are key to boost the economic competitiveness of the EU, its member states, regions and individual businesses. Resulting economic growth provides jobs and the ability to invest in the further progress of the clean energy transition to the benefit of all citizens. Clean energy for economic competitiveness and how to make the clean energy transition work for business, planet and people will therefore be core themes of the World Sustainable Energy Days 2018.

The event will feature policies, technology innovation and market development. It offers a unique combination of conferences and interactive events.

The annual conference brings together more than 700 delegates from over 50 countries from business, public sector and the research community.

Bautec 2018 - International Trade Fair for Building and Construction Technology in Berlin, Germany

8 - 21 February 2018

​​This event was attended by Technische Universität Berlin. 

Bautec​ is an international trade fair for construction and building services engineering.  Over 520 exhibitors of the building materials and construction system industry, heating industry, power engineering and air-conditioning technology offered the latest products and services. In addition, various competitions, lectures and symposiums took place introducing the latest technological trends.

During the Butec fair, the Department of Civil Systems Engineering of the Technical University of Berlin was present as an exhibitor.  The P2ENDURE innovations have been promoted and introduced to interested parties from the construction industry and academia. Positive feedback on the idea of e-Marketplace has been received from various suppliers​​.


The Industrial Innovation Information Days in Brussels, Belgium

​Around 1000 stakeholders discussed the future of European Industry at the Industrial Innov​ation Info Days​.​

Plenary sessions with great political impact on the industrial environment and key notes by high level speakers were followed by different parallel session in which the topics in the next "Nanotechnologies, Advanced Materials, Biotechnology, and Advanced Manufacturing and Processing'"(NMBP) work programme were presented.

Conference CKT​ in Warsaw, Poland

​​​​This event was attended by Mostostal Warszawa​ and Fasada​. 

More than 200 representatives of Polish companies, academic institutions and public administration participated in the CKT conference​ on “How to create effectively research and development strategies in the Polish industry” organized by the National Contact Point of the EU Research Programs.
The conference was attended by representatives of institutions that are active or planning their R&D activities, as well as beneficiaries and applicants for the Horizon2020 Program. The event was organized to create a nationwide forum for discussion, exchange of best practice and strategic planning for effective development of research and development strategies in the Polish industry. The patronage over the conference was held by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Development, the National Centre for Research and Development and the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland.
 
P2ENDURE was presented by Piotr Dymarski, Head of ICT Group in R&D Department in Mostostal Warszawa, during a thematic session devoted to large companies "R&D in industry and branding in Poland and abroad". One of the last examples of work carried out within P2ENDURE was laser scanning of the demonstration case in Warsaw - nursery no. 3, located at Warchalowskiego St. Based on the inventory, BIM engineers create a virtual model of this building.
By engaging in the project and similar initiatives, Mostostal gains knowledge about BIM technology, improves the qualifications of the employees and prepares them for the forthcoming requirements that will be applied in Poland in few years.
Agnieszka Łukaszewska, Director of R&D at Fasada, presented benefits from SME's point of view in the participation of P2ENDURE project. By gaining the knowledge about the innovative solutions for energy efficient building deep renovation, the company can be more competitive in the construction market and offer solutions to the clients that are tailored to theirs need. Moreover participation in the P2ENDURE project is a great opportunity to extend the scope of work for other areas as design, application of BIM in construction and consulting.

Global Event for Digital Business (CeBIT) in Hannover, Germany.

​​The event was attended by Timo Hartmann and Christoph Gutsche, Technische Universität Berlin

The  Global Event for Digital Business (CeBIT)​​ is th​e largest and most internationally r​epresented computer expo. It is an international trade fair where small and big companies, start-ups and universities present their ideas and solutions for the digital future. During three days of the CeBIT 2017 our partner from TU Berlin could learn about new technologies and innovations and attend lectures regarding Artificial Intelligence, the future of Health Care and Medicine and development in robotics. On Wednesday 22.03.2017 the Senator for Economy, Energy and Undertakings of Berlin - Ramona Pop visited the stand of TU Berlin; prof. Timo Hartmann presented the work of the university including the progress on P2ENDURE. Prof. Timo Hartmann gave also a presentation at the Science Square were people from different divisions can present their work and research. P2ENDURE flyers were distributed and slides informing about the project were displayed on a screen.​​​

EeB cPPP Impact Workshop in Brussels, Belgium.

16-17 May 2017

​The event was attended by Rizal Sebastian and Anna Gralka, DEMO Consultants.

The Impact Workshop for the three contractual Public-Private Partnerships (cPPPs) was organised by the European Commission and ECTP Energy Efficient Buildings (E2B) Committee in Brussels on 16-17 May 2017.
The Workshop was an occasion for P2ENDURE to present the project’s successful outcomes, advancement and more generally share the experience and good practices of project-building.

The first day of the Impact Workshop was organized by the ECTP E2B Committee. The workshop began with two addresses by the European Commission on the topics of energy efficiency in buildings through Horizon 2020, cPPP achievements and challenges followed by an introduction to the proposal amending the Energy Performance of Building Directive.
The second day was organized by the European Commission and focused on success stories from the EeB, Factories of the Future and Sustainable Process Industry cPPPs. Discussions focused on lessons learnt from the cPPPs, difficulties encountered, as well as the “after end-of-project” impact. A replay is available at the following link​.

MODER Workshop, “Design tools and processes for building renovation and energy transition at district level" in Utrecht, the Netherlands

The workshop was open for professionals and students working in the field of district refurbishment and/or energy transition.​

The World Sustainable Energy Days (WSED)​ is one of Europe's largest annual conferences in this field with combination of events on sustainable energy. Among them, the European Energy Efficiency Conference that encompassed different topics such as policies, markets, business models, financing and research & innovation. During the event, Dr Marco Arnesano met the P2ENDURE Project Adviser discussing the future of the project and the effective dissemination of results. At the same time, P2ENDURE leaflets where distributed during the conference.

AMANAC Workshop in Milano, Italy.

​This event was attended by Paola Robello and Daniela Reccardo, D’Appolonia and Gianni Cassera, Bergamo Tecnologie.

The event was dedicated to presenting a general overview of innovative solutions, technological opportunities and initiatives for building sustainability. The aim of introducing P2Endure at the AMANAC Workshop was to involve relevant stakeholders and to create synergies with other European projects. 


The scope of the AMANAC-CSA is to create an effective and long lasting collaboration and coordination platform within all the Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology projects (AMANAC), approved in the frame of the EeB-PPP, whose activities address development of (nano)materials, components and systems for the improvement of the energy efficiency in the built environment. AMANAC-CSA aims to maximize the impact of the cluster participating projects towards the European Industry and Society and hence effectively support the objectives established by European Commission and the EeB-PPP by addressing in a holistic way the relevant technical/technological, industrial, economic, societal, organizational and regulatory challenges.​

The 7th ECTP Conference in Brussels, Belgium.

​​​​​​​​​​This event was attended by Piotr Dymarski, Mostostal Warszawa; Gian Marco Revel, Università Politecnica delle Marche and Agnieszka Łukaszewska, Fasada.​​

The 7th ECTP open conference was dedicated to present and discuss current and anticipated innovation in the built environment field. Plenary sessions with high-level speakers from academia, industry and the European Commission introduced the global scheme and visions from various stakeholders. Mean-while, thematic parallel sessions addressed diverse specific issues under the five current challenges of the ECTP.​

Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) is the international summit of discussion about the link between urban reality and technological revolution.


This year SCEWC intended to increase the presence of organizations, exhibitors and visitors from all over the world, to keep generating synergies, sharing knowledge, provoke discussion, promote out of the box thinking and inspire a call for actions.

EASME Contractors Meeting in Brussels, Belgium.

​This event was attended by DEMO Consultants.

The meeting aimed in exchanging experiences and giving an opportunity for peer learning through lessons learnt, good (and less good) practices and dos and don'ts. Based on few examples common recommendations and conclusions were drawn for developing and marketing web-based and electronic tools for improving energy efficiency in buildings.

The BUILD UP portal​ was presented as an important dissemination tool. 

The BUILD UP initiative was established by the European Commission in 2009 to support EU Member States in implementing the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). The portal brings together new practitioners and professional associations in order to exchange best working practices and knowledge and to transfer tools and resources.
