D4.5: Optimised prototypes of PnP
prefab components and
integrated packages
Summary
P2Endure is a European research project funded under the EU programme H2020-EE-2016-PPP
(supporting accelerated and cost-effective deep renovation of buildings through Public-Private
Partnerships (EEB PPP). The project aims to improve the availability and performance of energy-saving
solutions for deep renovation and transformation of vacant, obsolete or sub-optimal public buildings into
dwellings promoting evidence-based innovative solutions for deep renovation based on prefabricated
Plug and- Play systems in combination with on-site robotic 3D-printing and BIM demonstrated and
monitored at 11 real projects, 2 virtual demonstrators in 4 geo-clusters with EU-wide replication
potentials.
The report describes the optimisation of the making process during the scope of P2Endure of plug & play
solutions that were designed for the 8 demonstration buildings:
- Multifunctional façade panels (applied in Menden, Germany; Gdynia, Poland; Warsaw, Poland)
- Smart Window (applied in Genova, Italy)
- RenoZeb units (applied in Ancona, Italy)
- Cocoonz façade (applied in Lekkerkerk, the Netherlands)
- Beam Façade (applied in Utrecht, the Netherlands)
- Flat Energy Roof (applied in Utrecht, the Netherlands)
- Aluminum façade (applied in Enschede, the Netherlands)
- Prefabricated bathroom module (applied in Enschede, the Netherlands)
The present document describes how the Building Information Modelling and time & cost analysis (4D
&5D) contribute to more efficient design and planning of renovation works. To this aim, the report
contains technical factsheets addressing the solution description, possible design options and technical
parameters for the plug & play solutions.
The document is addressed to architects, designers and contractors out there who are planning and
participating in the renovation process of different types of buildings (public buildings, schools,
kindergartens, residential buildings, office buildings, etc.). Other audience targeted through this report are
the developers of PnP-solutions for renovation of buildings.
The experiences of P2ENDURE demonstration projects are useful knowledge for them to handle as
lessons learned.
