D7.1: Data Management Plan (DMP)

Summary

P2ENDURE project participates in the Open Research Data (ORD) Pilot within Horizon 2020. As a consequence, a Data Management Plan (DMP) is required for the project’s participation in the ORD Pilot. The aim of the DMP is to outline how research data will be handled during the development of the research project and after its completion. In short, the DMP describes how the research data within the P2ENDURE project will be made findable, accessible, interoperable and re-usable (FAIR). This first version of the Data Management Plan provides a preliminary framework for all data collected, processed and generated within P2ENDURE. The DMP specifies what dataset the project will generate, whether and how it will be exploited or made accessible for verification and re-use, and how it will be curated and preserved. Since the Data Management Plan is ‘a living document’ it will be updated with more details during the lifespan of the project. New versions of the DMP will be created whenever changes in the project occur due to the inclusion of new data sets or changes within evolution of the project. The P2ENDURE Data Management Plan will be updated by the mid-term and final review to fine-tune it to the data generated and the uses identified by the Consortium.

P2ENDURE data sets include different kind of file formats, digital data, standards and metadata.

In addition to the documents and reports, the project will produce specific deliverables related to software, tools and demonstrators:

  • Demonstrator of IEQ control systems for real-time monitoring of indoor thermal comfort.
  • 3D point clouds, 3D thermal images created by thermal scanning
  • 3D point clouds created by laser scanning
  • Demonstrator of 3D printing and robotics controlled by on-site scanning and coordination system
  • BIM platform and parametric modeller for prefab components
  • Software and application for mobile inspection tool for condition assessment
  • Software for energy calculation
  • Software and mobile application for cost calculation: LCC, asset management
Within this first version of the Data Management Plan, a preliminary data set description of all P2ENDURE Deliverables has been provided. These provisional explanations follow the outputs envisaged in the project deliverables. The next and most advanced version of the DMP could follow a different organisation, classifying the data according to the specific IT outcomes.

A preliminary section related to standards and metadata has been drafted. Metadata standards are requirements which are intended to establish a common understanding of the meaning or semantics of the data, to ensure correct and proper use and interpretation of the data by owners and users. To achieve this common understanding, a number of characteristics, or attributes of the data have to be defined, also known as metadata.

The present report has been structured in compliance with the template provided by the European Commission, setting out all required sections and objectives.
